5 Minutes With… Yi Lin Lou

What does a typical work day look like for you?

I start my day off by checking and replying to emails before creating my checklist for the day. I will always start with the top priority task first which requires for our month closing such as scanning invoices and preparing management reports.

Did you always know you wanted to work in Finance? 

Yes since secondary school as I’m always interested in numbers and wanted to secure a 9-6 office job.

Which aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?

As I’m considered a newbie towards the finance industry, I enjoy discovering and learning new finance knowledge everyday.

What do you like about working at Accela?

I love the chill and friendly working atmosphere. Getting constant appreciation from colleagues and having many benefits such as having monthly CSR activities . 

What do you think the future of finance will look like?

I guess technologies will take over the future of finance as emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) are advancing and improving at a speedy pace.

Do you have any “hidden talents”?

No, I don't really have any talent. 

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be? 

Zookeeper! It is actually my dream since young to be a zookeeper as I love animals. Don’t you think that it's so cool and rewarding to interact with animals every single day!

What is your soundtrack of choice? 

I don’t really have a soundtrack of choice but if I have to choose one it will be R&B. 

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

Hanging out with friends and discovering new cafes.
