What Is The Corppass Login Change All About?

Starting this week (12 April), the Corppass system has changed so that everyone logging into digital government services on behalf of corporations needs to use their SingPass to validate their identity.

One SingPass holder can still manage multiple entities, but they will no longer need to keep each entity’s Corppass logins on hand. After entering their SingPass ID, the site will automatically direct the user to portals they manage under Corppass.

Here at Accela, our Finance and Corporate Secretary teams have been working closely with clients to support the change. Read on for more on the most frequently asked questions we have received.

What is Corppass?

Corppass was introduced in September 2018, giving companies a unique corporate code to log in to government sites like Inland Revenue Authority Singapore (IRAS) and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

Does this mean SingPass has merged with Corppass?

No, Corppass and SingPass remain two separate systems. SingPass is now being used to verify the user’s identity, but they will continue to administer corporate transactions under Corppass.

How will this affect those without an NRIC/FIN?

Foreigners who don’t have an NRIC or FIN need to set up a Corppass account under their passport number (or another form of foreign ID), and will then be issued a special SingPass Foreigner Accounts (SFA).

These SFA accounts are for Corppass login purposes only; they are not equivalent to an NRIC/FIN SingPass.

You should receive an email with your SFA but if you can’t see that email, read on...

I don’t have that SFA email - how do I get my SingPass?

Not to worry, you’re not shut out of the system - simply follow the steps below:

1) Head to www.singpass.gov.sg, click ‘Login’ and choose ‘Services’ at the top of the page, then ‘Forgot SingPass ID’. Scroll down below the picture, look for ‘Are you a Foreign user? Click here’. Click there, and fill in the details accordingly. This will send you an email containing your Y-series SingPass ID

2) Download the SingPass app to your phone from Google Play or Apple Store.

3) Go back to www.singpass.gov.sg, click ‘Login’ and choose ‘Services’ at the top of the page. This time, choose ‘Reset Password’.

Again, scroll down below the picture, look for ‘Are you a Foreign user? Click here’. Click there, and fill in the details accordingly. You will then receive an email with an Encrypted PDF containing your one-time ePIN (valid for 15 minutes).

4) Use the Y-series SingPass ID and the ePIN to login to your SingPass App. This will prompt you to create a new password and follow further instructions on the screen. The minutes this takes will save you a lot of time when it comes to logging in further down the track.

What do company administrators have to do?

Company administrators need to specify the SingPasses of the people authorised to transact on the company’s behalf. Administrators can also specify which digital service each SingPass holder is authorised to access on the company’s behalf.

What does everyone else have to do?

No action is required as long as you have a SingPass ID. You will no longer need to keep your Corppass logins handy, as your SingPass ID will automatically direct you to the portals you manage under Corppass.
