Tell us a little bit about your role with Accela?

My role covers maintaining the books, payroll, CPF, GST, Taxation and other statutory requirements every month. I also work on providing insights into performance by analysing data throughout the month on revenue, sales and expenses.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

I enjoy learning about the different industries and the key insights of what it really takes to run a different business. Learning about the different businesses inspires me the most in my job.

What do you like about working at Accela?

I like the friendly and supportive culture, the constant appreciation of the work, and many collaborative activities which keeps me motivated to come to work everyday.

What would you say truly differentiates Accela from the many competitive choices that exist today?

Accela has a diverse team which can truly understand the diverse needs of the clients. Also, we have a motivated workforce which prioritises fostering a positive working relationship with clients.

What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

In a previous job when I was working in India, I was assigned to do an audit of a client which was a small local business. The unusual part was that this client maintained all their accounts in handwritten traditional ways (i.e. without any computer software) and that too in a local language. That assignment felt kind of “living the ancient accounting world” and made me realise the true benefit of softwares in easing our work in recent times.

Best career advice you’ve ever received?

Think of yourself as a lifelong learner.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

I love gardening. I can not live without taking care of my plants.

What’s the most memorable meal you’ve ever had?

Dinner at Harigarh (Udaipur) with my husband, one of the most enchanting set up and excellent food. Their Dahi ke Kabab was worth dying for!
